About Our Executive Director
Terry Moffitt played basketball and received his BA in Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and his M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. He also earned his certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University and was twice a Fellow at The Foundation for Economic Education.
Terry has served as the Head of School at multiple schools throughout his career at schools in North Carolina and Virginia. Terry designed Veritas Sports Academy from concept to opening and then served as its first National Superintendent. Terry also served as the High School Principal at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, North Carolina for eight years. A classroom teacher for twelve years, Terry has taught Government, Understanding the Times, Economics, World and American History, and Philosophy. Terry has also taken five Christian schools from concept to actual operations.
Mr. Moffitt was elected to the High Point City Council in 1989, and served for three years as a High Point City Councilman. In December 1994, the House Committee on Education and Labor enlisted him to help establish and prioritize the education agenda of the 104th Congress. Terry served as the East Region Political & Development Director for the Alan Keyes Presidential Campaign in 1995. Terry also served on the Advisory Board for the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Curriculum project undertaken by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. In addition, he served as an Adjunct Professor of School Law in the graduate program at Columbia International University for twenty years and has taught Leadership and Political Action each summer at the East Coast Summit at Bryan College since the program began. Mr. Moffitt has served as a guest lecturer, and tutor, at Summit Oxford at Oxford University in England. He is also a member of the Summit Oxford Advisory Board. Terry was retained by the late Dr. D. James Kennedy to start, and initially run, Coral Ridge Ministries’ Center for Reclaiming America. Terry was also Chairman of the Board for several nonprofit and boards has served as a board member and deacon of his local church.
In addition to his work in education, Terry started, and ran, two companies. The TCMI Group, which was a multi-faceted, global, consulting organization, and GMI Solutions. GMI Solutions provided security consultation services, threat assessments, and designed pre-emptive security measures for schools, ministries and other entities around the world. Terry is an internationally known speaker and consultant who has worked with clients in 48 U.S. states and 29 countries. He has been featured in such prominent media venues as The BBC, Fox News , MSNBC, Nightline, NBC’s The Today Show, American Family Radio CBN and TBN, as an expert in a wide variety of areas. He has also been interviewed for articles in publications as varied as The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Hindustan Times, The Palestinian Chronicle, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, The Malaysian National News, The Boston Globe, The London Telegraph, and The London Guardian.
